We Share Warmth

Manitobah Mukluks is dedicated to sharing success and our platform with Indigenous artists and creators. We designed this limited edition Corrine Hunt Suede Tamarack in collaboration with Corrine Hunt...there are only 500 pairs available!

About the Artist:

Corrine grew up on the reservation in Alert Bay, BC inspired by the beauty of the Big House and the celebratory and unifying roles of the potlatch. Strongly connected to family, Corrine was mentored by her uncle Henry, an artist who helped her to see the stories hidden behind the silver and gold she engraved.

As she developed her talents, Corrine expanded into furniture design and mixed media and began exploring a modern interpretation of traditional symbols. Corrine has designed coins for the Canadian Mint, uniforms for the Canadian Olympic Snowboard team, and co-designed the medals for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

Her work is now part of the permanent collection of the Museum of History and she is a recipient of the National Aboriginal Achievement Award and BC Arts in Excellence Award. Today, Corrine continues creating hand carved jewellery, furniture and multi-media pieces and takes pride in giving back to her community in Tsakis, working with the village children teaching art and ideas

About the Art:

In my art, I show how both First Nations people and the artistic traditions have evolved, sharing images of animals such as orca whales, wolves, eagles, ravens and hummingbirds – animals often found on the Northwest Coast.

I am a member of the Raven Gwa’wina clan.

Gwa’wina - the raven, fancy feet. You and the raven walk in each other’s footsteps, finding joy. This is my vision for your mukluks

Care instructions: Our artist collaborations are printed on painted, delicate, leather. They are not waterproof and should not be worn in muddy slush. Please spray them carefully with high-quality, new, silicon-based spray.

Recent purchase

The boots arrived in Montana two days after ordering, amazing. Absolutely love them. Excited when I saw them as I was familiar with Corrine Hunt jewelry designs. And as a fan of ravens, I had to have them! Looking forward to future purchases, thank you!
